Reflexology is based on the principal that there are reflex points in the feet and hands that relate to all parts of the body, every organ and gland. There are thousands of nerve endings in the hands and feet.
Through the application of specific pressure techniques on the reflex points, energy impulses are sent from the reflex point to the corresponding part of the body alleviating energy blocks that can cause pain, or tension, thereby allowing a healing response to occur, thus encouraging the body to return to a healthy balance.
Also an ancient therapy, Reflexology is widely practiced throughout Europe and is part of the National Health Service of Great Britain.
is a spiritual practic developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, which has since been adapted by various teachers of varying traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands on healing as a form of alternative medicine and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professional medical bodies. Through the use of this technique, practitioners believe that they are transferring universal energy (i.e., reiki) in the form of qi (Japanese: ki) through the palms, which allows for self-healing and a state of equilibrium.
Shamanism is a journey of healing and self discovery. It is know as the "Great Work" for with it comes an understanding of the known and the unknown. It is about understanding one's life as a evolutionary journey of discovery. It allows one to have increased utilization of the knowledge gained from life's experiences. It allows you to have an increased personal desire to perceive beyond the ordinary and integrate the unknown into the known. It fosters a rich engagement with Spirit, one's Higher Self and the Unknown.
By incorporating the practice of Shamanism in my Psychotherapy practice I am given the tools in which to encourage the Inner Journey. Help the person set their intent and goals. Encourage Self-responsibility and facilitate the Shamanic journey into the unconscious, unknowing.
